Travelling around the diverse landscapes of this Central American country is easier than ever. Costa Rica is a small place with "a bewildering variety of landscapes", says Will Pavia in the Times. And thanks to a new minibus network in the Central American country, travelling between these diverse regions is now both cheap and easy.

The cloud forest that grows over the country's "mountainous spine" is astonishing in its "natural abundance": at a café on the edge of the Monteverde reserve, seven or more species of hummingbird can regularly be seen squabbling over the syrup feeders. From there it's a "magical journey" through "luminous green foothills" to the barren volcanic landscape of Irazu.

And no less enchanting are the vast, pristine beaches of the Caribbean coast, a relaxing final destination for most visitors.
Cahuita has all the magical charm and rustic beauty of the most mythical tropical paradise. Highlighting the setting are two sprawling beaches. Cahuita is the stereotypical laid-back Caribbean small coastal town, where the pace of life is as fast as the warm ocean breeze!

The Spanish School is located in Cahuita, Talamanca. Cahuita is a tranquil place, just 3 1/2 hours from San Jose by road, 36 Km South of Puerto Limón and 15 Km North of Puerto Viejo.
We are eloping shortly after you guys on August 6 in Playa Langosta. We are using Fernando from Lifetime Digital Imaging as our photographer and so far so good. He has been really great and helpful, for about $2000 we are going to have drift wood with flower arrangements, a photographer, the lawyer (to marry us & do paper work) and and flowers!!! I thought that was a bargain!

By budget, we meant something under a grand. We just want an officiant and that's it.

My bad, I would possibly check with the hotel, alot of times they offer deals. Usually if you just need the officiant and legal stuff taken care of then it is about $700. I am not really sure about where you are staying but I have noticed alot of the hotels on beach offer some sort of deal where they can contact the officiant.
has anyone been there or stayed? Any opinions would be great!

It is in Playa Chiquita, brand new and looks nice, that's all I know.
wake in the morning to the sound of a thousand birds calling you from the garden to watch as the sun rises from the blue-green depths before you, or to come share a ripe banana, papaya or passion fruit from the garden around you.

The first decision of the day is whether to go for a run on an endless and secluded beach, go for a swim, get out your surfboard, or do some yoga on the terrace.

? From your terrace your eyes will be massaged by shades of green and splashed by the natural gaudiness of flowers never allowed by the generous tropics to stop blooming. You can make your coffee without losing sight of the hummingbirds thrusting into the nectar-filled centers of the hibiscus blossoms.

If you need to rest some more, the hammock is just a few steps from the breakfast table.
Living here, you not only observe nature, but are part of it and c
by Randy Berg - Land on the Beach in Costa Rica is in demand and real estate sales in these areas have increased enormously. Central America can boast of the beaches of Costa Rica as this is one of the greatest treasures of this country. Visitors who come to Costa Rica end up buying properties here and even settle down in this beautiful picturesque nation. Most would love to own one of the properties on these exquisite beaches and this is what has created a great demand for beach properties.

Costa Rica has one of the most wonderful coast lines and this is also the biggest treasure of this nation. The dual coastlines run alongside the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. This does offer a lot of land on the beach in Costa Rica. However, looking at the cost factor it is only for those who can afford the price.
Wanting a different vibe kind of honeymoon in Costa Rica? Check out Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, Costa Rica.

Even though Costa Rica is a small country, you would spot exemplary vacation destinations here. Not to mention the Southern Caribbean Coast that became the heart and soul of the Caribbean coast. It was then connected to the country after making a way going to Puerto Limon. It is one of the last regions to be part of the country and still has its traditional native population, the Afro-Caribbean community and Jamaican descendents. Along with spicy Caribbean dishes, reggae and calypso music all over the town, you would also experience meeting Indian tribes who have been in the region hundred of years ago. In addition, you’ll get mixed up with the Spanish-English dialect that they are using, but still English is their local language. It’s like having two countries in one
This wonderful beach town on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica holds many surprises. With its laid back attitude and Caribbean life style, you can be assured of a relaxing Costa Rican holiday. Naturally, for those of us who like a more active holiday, Puerto Viejo has it all. Long walks on pristine beaches, experiencing exotic flora and fauna in a wildlife refuge, snorkeling or diving among the many reefs in our crystal clear waters, world-class surfing, mountain biking, kayaking and cultural visits to indigenous peoples.

To see some of the Country’s most beautiful beaches, just head east from Puerto Viejo towards Panama. Somewhere in between you’ll find magestic places like Manzanillo and Punta Uva. ride a bike to the west and you’ll find the small town of Cahuita, which even has it’s own rum distillery, making a delicious coconut flavored rum that makes Malibu taste like
Two surfers cycle past me clutching their boards as a local Rastafarian waves them a salute from his spot under a beach palm tree. Waves break on golden sand, backed by a snaking ribbon of slender palms and tropical green foliage - it's a scene you could market as visual Prozac.

It's not hard to see why Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is one of the most popular destinations on Costa Rica's Caribbean coast. The world-class breaks, miles of unmanicured beaches, natural parks and laid-back welcome lure backpackers and surfers alike.
We're looking for suggestions of where to stay in Costa Rica given: we love white sandy beaches, and warmer waters. We've travelled the US and the British Virgins extensively and love the beaches there. We're heard so much about Costa Rica, about its beaches, good prices, etc that we're looking for suggestions there for our next trip in May.

Thanks in advance!

My fiance and I have entertained the idea of moving to Costa Rica... we know we don't want to stay in the US, and I loved CR and know that he would love it as well. For those of you who have made the permanent move to CR, any advice? Is it worth it or will it be too stressful trying to find a place and a job and visas and all that? I would be looking for environmental work and he is a network engineer, really good with computers. I speak fluent Spanish but he doesn't speak any, which I know will probably be a problem when looking for work. Is this doable or are we in over our heads too much?...
Costa Rica also known as the rich coast, which is a part of Central America, and bordered by Nicaragua, Panama, Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.
I have to get up at 4:30am to catch a bus to Puerto Viejo which is in Costa Rica on the Caribbean coast near the border with Panama where I will be for the next few days. Before I begin, this blog probably won't be as interesting as some of the last few because I have not left San Jose since my last blog. But, I know that there are those few out there who would like an update regardless! (And, I of course like sharing, as well all know). Last week, nothing all that exciting happened except a lot of homework, that’s exciting to some people, right? But last weekend I met up with my Cousin Hillary Grey’s friend who is here for the summer. We went to a restaurant called Bagelman’s! Which is most definitely the only bagel place in all of Costa Rica. I had a bagel with cream cheese, lox, and tomato. It was amazing and hit the spot! (It doesn’t compare to Famous, but it was still pretty
I return and returned to Hotel Puerto Viejo, until I was offed to buy it in 1987, may 15. I finalized the buy on a full Moon Swell. That was pumping. That day I surfed alone, Waves were perfect!!! 8-10 foot swell. ...
We stopped by at this nondescript Puerto Viejo pizza joint. It looked nothing special. We were there during the rainy season, so the town was closed and no tourists really. We found this place open, and had some pizza…. it was great! Here is just a pic of what the native Tica hotties look like there.
